VIGILANCE<\/h1>\n

I was honored to create Vigilance<\/em>, the second of two bronze monuments to the brave Anaheim Police and their K9’s, at the beautiful and new Olive Hills Dog Park in Anaheim. It was a meaningful and well-attended ceremony including the Boy Scout. Officer RJ Young is pictured with his new K9, after the loss of the brave K9 Bruno who succumbed to his injuries two years after multiple surgeries after being shot in pursuit of a suspect. Bruno\u2019s actions protected his fellow human officers and prevented possible harm to the community as school was letting out. Vigilance<\/em>, demonstrates the watchfulness, alertness and persistence of a K9 in the act of doing its job.<\/p>\n

Vigilance <\/em>and Valor<\/em>\u00a0both are the result of the vision and efforts of the great City of Anaheim, California. Councilwoman Kris Murphy spearheaded the K9 memorial projects which became a community wide grassroots effort. To my knowledge, this is the first city in the US to have two K9 memorials to honor their police and their K9\u2019s.<\/p>\n
