Acclaimed for her limited edition and commissioned bronze and fine art acrylic sculptures, California artist Susan Bahary enjoys an international reputation, including patronage by the Moroccan and Qatar royal families.
Her sculptures have been featured in The New York Times and in other national and international publications, and in specials on CNN, the Discovery Channel and Fox News, among others. She exhibits in top galleries and museums from Beverly Hills to New York.
Born into a family rich in artistic tradition, Ms. Bahary gained a deep appreciation of art and music at a young age. She spent her childhood in Long Island, New York, and earned a bachelor of fine arts degree at New York University. She is an accomplished pianist and singer as well as sculptress.
Ms. Bahary first received professional recognition as the sculptress of a 25-foot-high metal sculpture on the grounds of the Lowe Art Museum in Coral Gables, Florida. This commissioned work consisted in a series of human-like forms ascending in a spiral.
Ms. Bahary’s representational and abstract sculptures include both human and animal subjects. A former breeder, she is known for the anatomical correctness of her equine and canine sculptures, as well as for a larger statement that speaks to the human experience about elemental emotions. |
